CONCEPTS

  • Enterprise Architecture - This is a structured set of artifacts that document the management elements of an enterprise as illustrated in the "Enterprise Performance Measures Hierarchy". The artifacts can be in the form of descriptive documents, models, or entries in the ontology of a Knowledge Base.
  • Value Chain - This is a reference model for guiding the documentation of the an enterprise's management activities according to functional disciplines (e.g. Sales & Marketing, Technology Development, etc.).
  • Product Life Cycle - This defines the phases of the life span of a product as depicted in "Product Life Cycle Document Set" diagram.

STANDARDS

  • PMI-PMBOK – Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge. ANSI and IEEE endorsed the 2000 edition as standard for project management. The latest edition is 2005. Click here to download a free copy of DoD extended PMBOK.
  • EVM (ANSI/EIA-748) – Earned Value Management is an industry standard for program/project management in planning, tracking, and measuring cost, schedule, and scope.
  • CM (ANSI/EIA-649) – Configuration Management for change control and proper documentation of assets including products, systems, specifications, data, hardware, software, equipments, and facilities.
